your echo is with me
We often see ourselves as individuals, separating us from any idea of a group. Yet, we forget that we are always surrounded by others, another who is or was where we stand. This artwork is an installation that will make us acknowledge the presence of all those who came before us.

The installation consists of a room that participants enter through a door located at one of its ends. Upon entering, participants face a mirror covering the entire opposite wall, allowing them to see their reflection. Above this mirror, a video camera points forward. Behind the participant, what the camera captures is projected, but the signal transmission is delayed by a few minutes. In this way, the first person entering the room will only see their own reflection, while the second will see their reflection along with the projection of whoever was there before. As more people enter, the group grows, and the images overlap, creating an “echo” of the images of everyone who has been there.
The experience aims to reclaim identity within the collective and understand that history shapes the present. We exist because there was another.
