raise your voice
Nine months before the launch of the Voyager probes, the U.S. government asked Carl Sagan to prepare a message for a potential extraterrestrial civilization. Thus, a golden record travels on each spacecraft carrying a greeting recorded in 55 languages. If you could record a message and send it to the world, what would you say?
Raise your voice (what’s your struggle?) invites each participant to record a message expressing their struggle, but when played back, all the messages overlap. The artwork suggests that if all struggles happen simultaneously and, at the same time, are pursued individually, they end up becoming a senseless mass.

In the INPUT room, a microphone mounted on a black box with a red button invites each participant to record a message.
In the OUTPUT room, the sum of recorded messages plays in a loop, meaning they are superimposed on each other repeatedly.
